About the 3-Part Safe Conversations Training

When you attend this 3-part online training, you’ll learn how to apply Safe Conversations in many settings. Part 1 is an immersive learning experience to help you build SC into your own relationships, forming the bedrock for your Safe Conversations leadership. In Part 2, you’ll learn to apply Safe Conversations in a facilitative way, leading two or more people to in the Safe Conversations process. In Part 3, you’ll practice and perfect your Safe Conversations workshop leader skills, receiving a training kit and access to the Safe Conversations leader community and portal on SafeConversations.com.

Learn from the Founders

Safe Conversations® was co-created by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D, and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D. They’ve taken their experience working with couples for 40+ years and simplified best practices to bring Safe Conversations to every relationship, in any situation and every community.

Harville appeared on Oprah 17 times as her relationship expert. Helen was inducted to the Women’s Hall of Fame for her leadership in the global women’s movement. Together, they co-developed Imago Relationship Therapy® and authored many New York Times best-sellers including Getting the Love you Want, Keeping the Love you Find, and Giving the Love that Heals.

Requirements for the SMU 3-part Leader Training 

• Participants must attend all three parts of the training, and complete the standard Safe Conversations Leader Agreement recognizing adherence to IP and other leadership commitments.

• Leader Training pre-work must be submitted prior to the workshop.

• In order to receive a SC Leader Certificate, participants must volunteer as Practice Coach for at least one online workshop and  deliver a qualifying Safe Conversations® workshop within 3 months of the Leader Training program (unless an extension is granted in writing). Standard workshop evaluation forms must be submitted to Safe Conversations LLC via SC Portal upload.

• Participants who complete the SMU Safe Conversations Leader Training will have their first year of SC Membership waived, a savings of $240 in recognition of the collaboration between SMU and Safe Conversations LLC.
