Our Story

Creating connections in your relationships is a skill.
And now there is a teachable process.

Getting the Love
You Want

Drs. Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt were already respected relationship experts when they published the breakthrough couples therapy book, Getting the Love You Want. The year was 1988 and the book saw astounding success because its simple, practical advice worked.

Harville and Helen developed and used Imago Relationship Therapy successfully in their marriage, so when Harville debuted the concept with Oprah Winfrey, and demonstrated it with couples from the live audience, he was able to show healing in progress immediately.

There were lots of AH-HA moments. Oprah invited Harville back for 16 additional episodes of the Oprah Winfrey Show and recommended the book to her book club. Translated into 10 languages, Getting the Love You Want opened the minds of couples around the world to relationship equity and safe communication that brings trust and healing.

Safe
Conversations

Harville and Helen took their movement to another level in 2010 when they met with a group of their friends and colleagues who were fellow relationship scientists, counselors, and advocates. The group discussed ways to make relationship education available to the public, not limited to a therapy clinic, so people would have access to teachable skills before they had relationships in crisis.

The group charged Harville and Helen to begin the project with their process called Safe Conversations®. Dallas was selected as the location to begin the social experiment, and the initial workshops were received with wild success.

Soon after, the Safe Conversations organization was established, and a Leader Training Program was developed. Over the next decade, Safe Conversations trained leaders around the world offering workshops and sharing the proven process in communities everywhere. More than half a million people in 65 countries have been taught the Safe Conversations Dialogue Methodology.

Quantum
Connections

As businesses face the challenge of building connected relationships within a radically changing work environment, it has become increasingly evident that relationship and communication skills are desperately needed within organizations.

Harville and Helen began corporate workshops as early as 2019 in New York. Based on the incredibly positive feedback, they again leveled up on their vision. Dennis S. Holland, an expert in building brands and creating market demand, joined the team as CEO to lead expansion of Safe Conversations to new markets.

In 2023, the company launched a new brand identity, Quantum Connections™, to extend its identity and resonance well beyond its traditional markets to specifically include corporations around the world.

Workshops with global brands are underway as part of the Connecting at Work™ program. Quantum Connections has also launched The Net Connected Score™, proprietary research to help measure relational competencies and show the impact to organizational key results such as employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
